Sandcastle Radio was founded in 2022 and has been broadcasting great music and independent programming, commercial-free, around the world, 24 hours a day ever since!

Sandcastle Radio is a digital radio station and can be listened to on the player on our website main page or by downloading our free app wherever you get your apps.

We are a small, volunteer-run digital radio station that reaches the world with commercial-free, independent programming and are proud to support and promote independent artists 24 hours a day on Sandcastle Radio. Please feel free to reach out directly to the individual live show hosts and DJs at Sandcastle Radio. Each host has their own submission process for music they will consider playing on their live shows.

PLEASE NOTE: For two years we have played indie artists on our Monday playlist free of charge. We'd love to continue doing that, but we simply can't. We are a small, volunteer-run station, albeit with a global impact. In order to continue playing new music on rotation, we are now requesting artists to subscribe to our Patreon for a minimum of $2/month. We think that's a pretty good deal given the hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars each month that go into keeping our all-volunteer run station on the air playing independent music around the world commercial-free! And unlike FM and AM stations in the US, who are NOT required to report the music they play so that artists receive royalties, digital radio stations like ours ARE required to report the music we play and we happily do so every quarter AND maintain proper licensing so that artists receive their well-deserved royalties. We also BUY hundreds of songs every year and encourage our listeners to buy music from the artists they enjoy.

We sponsor a variety of events throughout the year, in Studio 228 and in the community, including Radio Is Not Dead Festival, Teen Talk Show, dance events, and community art markets.

We are independent, commercial-free, volunteer-run and listener-supported live radio and our live show hosts and DJs, who are all volunteers and listener-supporters of Sandcastle Radio themselves, generously provide coverage and exposure for entrepreneurs, musicians, authors, and more every single week at NO CHARGE to their guests. We are aware that other stations and DJs charge between $50-200 for simply playing an artist's song and that is, frankly, their business--ours is to continue to share our passion for great music and programming with the world that is truly independent and free of outside interests. Not accepting paid programming is our way of ensuring that is the case. Our hosts have the freedom to bring whomever they want on to their live shows. Please reach out to them directly for their individual submission process. If you have been a guest on one of our live shows and would like to show your appreciation for the host's time and our global platform by making a one-time or recurring donation, we graciously accept donations of any amount. If you would like to specify that your donation be shared with one of our hosts, please let us know in the notes section of the donation form and we will happily share a generous portion of your donation with your host. Otherwise, all donations will be applied to the 24-hour-day maintenance of our worldwide radio station. Thank you for your support!
